Started propecia 1mg and noticed several side effects as described. I quit after 3 weeks and things went back to normal after 3 weeks. I then tried .5mg for 6 months in hopes the side effects would subside, some were reduced at this dose but others persisted and are not acceptable for the long term. I stopped taking the medication recently and again, seems I'm back to my old self after 3 weeks.
Anyone notice improvement in side effects beyond 6 months? My persisting side effects were low libido and quite reduced sensitivity/arousal. I also woke up needing to urinate at night frequently. Perhaps I'm just one of the unlucky ones. I'm willing to try another 6 months to better evaluate the hair but debating whether this is a bad idea in light of my susceptibility to side effects. I would say I experienced improved texture of existing hair and perhaps early regrowth during this time, would be interested in seeing what the 1year results would be though but first things first.
