Should you soak right after removing or it doesn't matter?

I usually leave the other system with old glue residue for like 3 weeks and then soak. The glue is dry then of course. Would it be better to soak it right after I've removed it? Then it's together with isopropyl alcohol which I used to remove the system. Would this make cleaning the base easier? Thank you!
