Hi guys, thanks for reading.

I really didn't want to be one of the posters who 'panic', but don't worry i'm not really, just a bit concerned and looking for advice.

I'm into my 2nd week of Propecia (soon to be proscar divided by 5) and have already noticed a significant wane in my libido and all else that is concerned with the goings on down there...(less stronger erection etc etc).

Should i worry? I mean i read that it takes time to adjust, but i'm just a bit suprised that it has happened so suddenly.

I hope that my body will adjust to what the drug is doing. So i just want to know, when it is such a sudden change (barely 2 weeks), have any of you noticed a similair sudden change when just starting and have you got over it and got back to your normal libido levels?

I dont think i could bare having to take something else to balance the negative effects of Propecia (v**** or whatever) :freaked: .

Anyway..all advice will be appreciated.

Thanks guys.

i had a decrease at 2 weeks - weaker erections. but i rode it out. it didnt suddenly disappear, but got steadily better over about a month/month and a half. i dont regret staying on finasteride at all in terms of libido and otherwise. you should be fine. ride it out and dont worry. try not to think about it too much because that might affect your libido (if youre worrying about it etc). just reassess the situation in like a month, longer if necessary but it probably wont be. youre experience sounds pretty common so dont worry. at least you know that finasteride is having an effect on your system, and so your hair too.

Same happened to me about a week or two into the treatment... I got worried, but my erections seemed to have returned to what they were, and did so in about week 5, so give it time.

This is perfectly normal. Just as long as everything still works, you're fine. If it doesnt work, start worrying.

There are some things you can do to combat this. I highly reccomend L-Arginine. It helps increase bloodflow and makes a real difference.

My dip in libido was most significant in the first month, but it continued for many months. I would say actually that it wasnt untill month 9 or 10 or so that I really felt I was back to 95% where I was before. 95% is not such a bad thing. I was one horny MoFo and would drive my gf crazy. :D

As a suggestion to all,. even if you dont have a partner, keep it active, if you know what I mean. The act of ejaculation creates DHT (or so it has been said) and there has been much speculation that this will lead to further hairloss. This is total bullshit; finasteride will still keep DHT levels far below 'normal'. It will, however, help keep it in top working condition. So pound one out at least few times a week, if not a few times a day. Your penis will thank you. :smash:

I agree

What up All,

I agree with all of you. The first few weeks I had a huge jump in my sexual drive, but after a that a huge drop. It is now month 2 and Im totally back to normal. It is weird, but all the side effects have gone away and shedding has slow downt quite a bit! Keeping my fingers crossed. Ride it out, you should be fine bro!!!!!!!!!

Take Care,
Tony

I also noticed this is the first couple of weeks. It kind of felt numb down there but I guess it will improve. I finished with a girlfriend a few weeks ago so I don't have anyone to test it on.

I hope that I can at least maintain what I have. Any regrowth including the downstairs bit will be appreciated. :D
