hey guys, haven't been here in a while because i thought i would just keep taking my finasteride/min/nizoral and not look at anything else, but its been about 6 months and my hair loss is getting worse!!

i use the liquid drops generic minoxidil and i notice the irritation is insane and i feel like i am getting acne or something on my scalp...i hear the foam is a lot less irritating, do you think the liquid drop irritation is making my hair loss worse? would i be better off switching to foam? i hear generally speaking foam is far superior.

You could give Minoxidil foam a try and see how it works for you. I use the foam version of the treatment and I find it to work well for me.

Piggybacking on your question, does anyone know if foam is better for long hair? When I had long hair the liquid was a b**ch to get on my scalp..

Liquid is better as you can use the dropper to ensure the Minoxidil reaches the scalp and therefore the hair follicles. Even if you don't part your hair properly, because of gravity the liquid will still move down to your scalp. Whereas the foam can in theory get stuck in your hair where it's useless. If you use foam, you have to be careful how you apply it.

Even though I'm currently using the foam version of Minoxidil, I've also used the liquid form before. Since I've used both forms before and when it comes down to effectiveness of treating hair loss, in my opinion, I think both work exactly the same. I believe it's simply just personal preference on who prefers to use which form of Minoxidil.

Hey guys just updating to let y'all know that I bought the foam version and already love it a million times more. It doesn't irritate my scalp like the dropper version and actually makes my hair feel soft and clean rather than sticky and hard after I use it :)

Also I did a Google search for "should I use liquid or foam minoxidil?" And it turns out that in the clinical trials the foam had twice the rate of success on people and it has a lot less harsh ingredients than the old dropper version.

Also I love how it dries within seconds and doesn't leave a mess!!! And it's gentle enough that I can use it twice a day :)

I was about to give up on treatment, but the foam totally changed my mind...if anyone's new or using dropper and feeling frustrated, I 100000% recommend the foam version, I use the Walmart generic version, its still a bit more expensive than the generic liquid minoxidil, but totally worth it!!!

What I do is squeeze a little bit on my fingers and rub it in where I have thinning, instead of doing a half cap amount all at once.

My hair is naturally extremely dry and I also saw that the foam version is better for peoplle like me with sensitive skin and dry hair.
