Hi all, I have been on Propecia for about 2 years, at best I will say my hair loss was slowed down, but in general sill worse off than baseline. I have just finished my 12th pack of propecia. I will go to see a derm for prescription very soon and until then I will enjoy my drugs free vacation. I am seriously considering switching to Dutasteride, although I still have no idea whether I can get it through prescription here. Things concern me most are 1 its effectiveness comparing with Propecia (I am looking forward to some regrow), 2 will I have to go through another shedding period? 3 side effect of dutasteride and 4 its price, is it much more costy than Propecia? Any comments will be greatly appreciated

How old are you? I can advise dutasteride! It is the more modern drug. The fact that you took finasteride two years is ok.

I would advice you to switch to dutasteride.

BUT think good about your dosage.
Take 0.5mg every day, reach the steady state (after 3-4 month) and then lower the dose again and see if it works. I did the same with great success.

Hi, I am 26 and I have diffuse thinning, not very bad receding. My hair is like my dad's; thin, straight and weak.
Could you tell me more about your success? Thanks!
