Age 28, turning 29 in June

Around 24-26, started noticing things in my pictures and wasn't quite sure what it was. Later on I noticed how more and more shiny my forehead was becoming. I also started to realize my hair was becoming slightly less thick.

It wasn't until a friend of mine (god damn her) made fun of the fact that my hair was receding and I was in denial for a while.

When I comb and style it doesn't seem bad, but when I wake up and in bad light, its pretty noticeable.

Oh and usually this is how I get my haircut: Keep length on top, 1 or 2 on sides and back, parted line

What is your families history of hairloss? Including your dad, his dad, your dads brother, your brothers, your moms dad and moms brothers.

You do have recession and some slight diffuse thinning but its not so bad for your age.

Dad's side has almost no balding or recession. All his brothers have full heads of hair. My paternal grandfather had a full head of hair.

Mom's side has had thin hair. Two uncles are norwood 5, and another two uncles have norwood 3 with balding crown.

My brother was unlucky and got my mom's side of hair and started balding at age 19.

There is no picture of your crown and your hair is styled...

The front does have recession. The sparseness all the way at the front where a full amount of hair was usually signals hair loss. Though the temples seem fine so you may not lose your hair to the point of it being extremely bad.

Bump. I know its an old thread, but I wanted to update and also yes...I need validation from strangers lol. I turned 30 a month ago, so I realize compared to others I don't have it as bad. I've provided photos above which were shot about two years ago. Here is me just a couple of weeks ago after a haircut and styled:

Only problem is when I wake up in the morning and my hair is flat, I notice my scalp more often.

I'll be straight forward. Your hair doesn't look bad at all but its probably slowly thinning. I think if you want to be preventative you should low dose finasteride for ahwile and gradually move up to a full dose. Then you'll be set for a decade atleast.
