Should I Start the BIG 3? How BAD IS MY Crown Thinning? 31 yr old

Hey guys, I would like to know your opinion on my crown. How bad is it thinning? I literally see strands and ball of hair on my hand while in the shower shampooing my hair. Its really depressing. My hair used to be so thick and full of volume that when it covered my face all I would see is complete darkness. Now I can see straight through my hair once its blocking my face because its so thin. How bad is my crown? Have you guys seen this before? Its really messing with my self esteem. These pictures are taken from the front of my face. The back of my head is probably worse.

Are you even sure this is male pattern baldness ? If you see that you're losing too much hair you could try nizoral and finasteride or nizoral and minoxidil but the big three seems a bit much in this case !
Seriously though your crown loss is not bad AT ALL.

Try nizoral first and see if the shed decreases. Do you have any thinning at the hairline?

I sure do. Look at how big my forehead is now because of the thinning. I miss my youthful hairline =( My head didnt always look so big =(. This is what my hair looks like when its pulled and clipped back with those things girls use.

Just because I have a full head of hair now doesnt mean it will stay within the next 2 years. Im thinning bad. I get clumps of hair on my hand when I shampoo my hair. Recently Ive been applying some oils and leaving it on for 4 days straight as an attempt to save my hair and Ive only been showering twice a week or so because Im scared to see all of that hair in the drain. Because I still have some hair, is it wrong for me to try to prevent male pattern baldness? Ive been so depressed because of this lately.

You have nothing to be depressed about. You're in your 30s with good hair. Many of us don't even make it past 25 with hair.

Start the big 3 if you're worried. I wouldn't toy around with anything else, get on the proven stuff.

You could take hair supplements like Biotin or zinc, or a full set like Maxi Hair by Country life I guess. But with these photos saying you miss your old hairline is like taking a big dump on the head of every severely balding guy in the world.

Haha nevermind I must have read about it in one of his posts, I checked the ingredients/dosage and they seemed okay though.
I'm just suggesting that because finasteride or minoxidil are a huge commitment to make, and this guy has the same hair I had when I was ten !

Ive been wondering about the big 3 because Im a little scared it might be overkill and you know, having to deal with the side effects. I think I will take hairchasers and vlatch advice. Ive been taking Biotin and Saw Palmetto recently so now ill try to add Zinc into my regime along with some Nizoral shampoo. If my temples dont grow back then I think I will take Vlatchs other advice, which is trying minoxidil.

Big 3 isn't overkill there are stronger regimens out there. You don't need the big 3 only finasteride and nizoral to maintain

anyway if you are so scared just get on finasteride alone, that would be more than enuf.

You're right, though I'm not sure he has male pattern baldness. It looks like a full head of hair to me, if the shedding is pretty recent it could be stress related or a lack of nutrients. I know we're supposed to start treatment early and in most cases male hair loss is DHT related, but it would be a shame to start finasteride without being completely sure about that =\
I'd give it at least 6 month if I was him !

I wouldn't wait I would see a hair loss doctor to confirm whether or not it is male pattern baldness

You have no hair loss based on the pictures that you posted. If you still think that you are losing your hair then go and see a dermatologist.

As an 18 year old with way, wayyyyy, worse hair you make me really mad by thinking what you got going on is bad. You have ZERO hair loss and i hope you are not trolling.

I can understand that his pics would make you mad...but I noticed that you're only using minoxidil. It doesn't look like you're taking your hairloss very seriously.

Bad is a pretty young guy. If I was his age I would be hesitant to take finasteride. I take it now, but at 18, I am not so sure I would have pulled the trigger on taking it. minoxidil and nizoral at this point might be the safest route. Personally I don't really buy in to the herbal stuff. I haven't tried everything, but I have tried SP and other products containing SP and they did absolutely nothing for me. It is really a tough call for the guys that are really young. I am not even sure most doctors would even give him a prescription for finasteride.
