The title suggests it all. My hair isn't doing to bad, I'm diffuse thinning. I am currently using rogaine but I'm considering propecia. Should I go talk to my family doctor? any advice? thank you
Thanks for replying Buckthorn. I'm honestly out of hope and feel really depressed. I'm in my senior year of high school and it's miserable going through this
It's the only thing that works. It depends on just one thing IMO: are you fully done with puberty?
What's your current Norwood stage, how aggressive is it and how about your family history are the next questions you should ask yourself if the above answer is positive.
I would definitely recommend it to a 17yo who is done growing up and fully pubescent and has aggressive hair loss.

hey man, provide us with some pics of your hair and we can give you some advice. I am sorry you're going through this. If it's that dire of a situation, you can be prescribed it at 18. I think 17 is still too young as full development of endocrine system could still be happening.
17 is way to young to start finasteride you need dht to make you a man when goin through pubity dont mess with your hormones at such a young age dude it could be the worst thing you could do do you take minoxidil?
I started taking it at 17 and I couldn't be happier. No side effects and I've grown back some hair. Good luck in your decision, man; I know how tough hair loss can be at such a young age.
I'm 20 and I'm not completely done growing. In terms of height, yes. But my facial and body hair is getting thicker, my jaw line is still maturing. Your brain develops until around 24. The medical community doesn't know what damage 5ar blockers do to a maturing brain. 17 is way too young my man. I started balding at 16. I feel it. Add 2% keto or try the 195 dollar lasercomb from hairMax. Personally my hair looks thicker from using LLLT, but it's definitely not going to bring your hair back to NW0 status
