Hi I'm 17 years old and I'm dealing with hair loss in my hairline. I've been using minoxidil for over a year and it's goin well but I would like to maintain my progress and grow new hairs faster. Would you recommend I start using finasteride

I would probably have to do an online consultation to get a prescription. Which site would you recommend this doing on? Also if I do this am I basically guaranteed to get a prescription? I don't want to have to spend money and not get one. also what about refills do I have to keep coming back?

Thanks for your help guys. I've included a pic of my hair for you tosee let me know what you think.

His hair does not look totally fine man.

Those little hairs at the front of his hair line are miniaturizing. This is how it starts. The question for you OP is, is this how it will stay for a long time, or will there be more recession?

fincar from Alldaychemist bro. No prescription required. Ships from India. Pretty cheap and legit.

Get on finasteride if you value your hair. For the cost of shipping from one of these online pharmacies in India you can purchase a 4 months supply of 1.25mg/day generic proscar from a legitimate U.S pharmacy. Go to your Doctor, get a scrip, leave the forums, enjoy your life

So I tried doing this is they need a phone number to call me. This would be alright but I'm switching providers once my new phone is shipped to me and I don't know if I will have the same number. Why does it even need to call me? Should I just go through with it?

Just go to the dermatologist man, it's just finasteride.

I'd end up paying more to see a dermatologist and there's no guarantee he'd give me a prescription anyway. Also it'll take a while to get in anyway.

Dont start antiandrogens yet. Wait til you are 18--give your body some time to grow because you might still be going through puberty. Wait a year and then try to get a prescription; til then go on minoxodil. No, you won't lose all your hair if you go off of it (only the ones that you were genetically destined to lose will shed some weeks-months later). You might shed a crap-load, but don't freak. Your hair follices on the hairline are obviously miniaturizing and supplementing them with minoxidil will keep them alive a little longer.

EDIT: You need a prescription for Propecia, but you can find antiandrogens on the net for sale. Personally, I wouldn't take them at your age, but I'm not your mom, so if you really want to do it, go for it. Don't take a whole dose; start off with a small amount. From there you can gradually increase if you want.

I ended up buying them on alldaychemist which doesn't actually require prescription. I'll start with .5mg to ease in and then gradually bump up to 1mg a day and if I see side effects I can stop. The difference between half a year and me turning 18 is minuscule the only thing that will change is the amount of hair I've lost. I'll play it safe though. Thanks

Here's to hoping for the best. Losing hair sucks; I really hope you can regrow and maintain that regrowth, good luck!
