Should I start dutasteride? Looking for advice from dutasteride users.

I feel like I've kind of maintained on finasteride for about ten months but looking at my scalp still disgusts me. Just TWO years before I started treatment I had a wonderful head of hair, so I figured since the loss is so recent and I'm still young at 27 I should get some reversal, but I still have a big ugly bald crown. Since I suppose I responded to finasteride with maintenance, does that mean I could respond even stronger to dutasteride? I really want some regrowth.

dutasteride users: what brand do you guys use and how much does it cost you? My derm says it's way more expensive than finasteride, for which I pay $9 per month.

I take generic dutasteride...can't afford the real stuff (Avodart)
ask yourself one question before taking the dutasteride plunge:
"can my balls handle it?"

Well, no side effects from finasteride so yes, I think my balls tolerate AAs pretty well lol. How much do you pay for your generic dutasteride? Did you get a prescription?

If you haven't had any regrowth after 10 months you might try stepping up to dutasteride. You didn't mention if you're using minoxidil. If you aren't, that should be your next step if you want regrowth.

I'm not convinced minoxidil grows terminal hair. All I've seen is baby hairs that are cosmetically worthless, so it seems like a waste of time and money.

All my noticeable hairloss occurred within just the last two years. That's why it's so frustrating that I can't seem to regrow it...it was so recently there!

Dose is 1 mg a day.
