I have been on finasteride for eight months, 1 mg a day for probably a solid five months getting on six, my hair definitely looks thicker — there was an initial shed but it seemed to normalize. When I’m washing my hair I don’t notice more than five or eight hairs on my hand, and I have really long curly hair. Also because of my hair type after a shower I have to comb it while the hair is wet, this is when I will catch some knots and I will notice about say 10 hairs in the comb. Now I can’t really determine if that is normal loss, or if it’s bad... But I do know that my hair has gradually receded in the temples since I was about 21 ( now 26) especially the right temple, and I am noticing significant diffuse thinning in the right temple. Of course I apply minoxidil, keto shampoo as well as derma roll once a week, but like most I haven’t seen anything terrific in terms of improvements. Would I have more luck with dutasteride in place of finasteride?
