Should I get checked for thyroids to discard any other causes for Hair Loss?

Hello. A few months ago I talked with my dermathologist, and he sent me for some blood tests before giving me a prescription for finasteride (status of the liver, etc), but nothing related to thyroids. He only told me that at my current state Finasteride would do wonders on me. I have a nasty genetic inheritance of early male pattern baldness (all my cousins were completely bald before 20, my younger brother only has half the head covered at this time, and I am the last survivor with a norwood II (getting close to a III) at 30..

I mentioned my doctor that I was worried about thyroid problems thinking about some symptoms (mostly the heat intolerance, irritability / anxiety, difficulty on concentrating, etc...), but he just ruled me out as hypochondriac (quite true). Still, I wanted to discard it for hair loss. I've been five months on minoxidil, two on dutasteride (I was quite desperate) and I have started with keto shampoo. I still have the same degree of daily hair loss (plus shedding since the last month), although I have started to see lots of new tiny hairs on the hairline and temples, and a few spiky ones.

I don't know. Should I try to convince him again to get some analysis, or get a private endo to check me?

Thanks.

PS: No Side effects from Dutas. Maybe a bit of libido loss during the second month, and could have heightened my depression / anxiety to new levels (massive hair loss during a depressive episode), but it's hard to tell. I don't exactly have a "normal" mind...

Im doing this soon http://www.privatemdlabs.com/lp/Thyroid_TSH_T3_T4.php Thyroid disease runs in my family it seems and I now have every symptom of hyperthroidism. My tsh alone came back fine but I never had my t3 and t4 checked. My moms side is bald though so might just be mpg or it could be both or just thyroid. Won't know till I get this last test.
P.S. thyroid levels differ in the morning and nite. TSH more in the morning and less in the afternoon.

I gotta get this checked too. I am also 30. I would like to get some labs done. I just have no insurance. Not to change topics but:
If you are uninsured like me, and you obtain private individual health insurance, the first thing you find is that to get an affordable premium, you have to compromise on other things - like a high deductible.

Now, I want these labs done so would I have to pay for all the tests at retail until my deductible. If the deductible is $2,500 (or more) I would never reach that.
OR - is it true that just having insurance through a particular insurance company entitles you to their pre-negotiated rate for lab work which is much less expensive?
