I think that minoxidil/spironolactone are very different treatments to prox-n, so its hard to say.

Also, you've only been on minoxidil since october last year, so it's too early to say (im not sure about minoxidil, but usually you have to wait a year to judge) and spironolactone for even less time.

That being said prox-n seems like a great product to me (though im ordering it, so i might be biased... :p), and not too expensive if you make it last. However most likely it wont regrow hair anything like minoxidil will (even if minoxidil is only temporary for some)

If you dont respond to minoxidil at all after a year, i'd definately add prox-n. You don't have a copper peptide yet, and prox-n has copper peptides, SODases and Dr P's NANO growth stimulants. However the issue is the $$

why prox-n and why not prox ?

Prox has all spironolactone, Monix combined in it and I am sure you can last it much longer than a month

Goingat20 why do you want to quit minoxidil/spironolactone?

Have you had no results?

I cant be bothered with the whole process of getting a prescription, and also the cost.

I havent had any results from minoxidil and its a bit early to judge spironolactone. I have to make a change to my regime as my hair seems to be getting worse :(

The cost is definately an issue yes (although its possible to use much less) but dont worry bout the prescription. In australia the US FDA has no authority, and we can order all the prescription drugs we want :) Worked for me...

Hey Felk, thanks for the help
As i have to cover a lot of my scalp, how long do you think prox can last?
Also, it it extremely difficult to apply, seeing that we both dont have short hair? Can you go out after applying it?
Thanks mate

Hmmm i dont think it's possible to get the prox cream to cover the whole scalp, and this isnt what its meant for apparently. Dr Proctor has repeatedly said on hairlosshelp and in his little brochure that comes with his stuff, that the medicine "does not need to be applied to the whole scalp, just the bald/thinning areas. To treat the rest of the scalp, i suggest nano shampoo"

I was all set to drop prox because it was so difficult to apply to everywhere i wanted to. However, im just using a tiny bit on the thinning areas and its very easy. With a wet scalp, i think it goes further too.

Yeah, it doesnt make any difference to my hair at all, since you apply so little.

Now im still going to use proxiphen, but as a supplementary treatment which i only apply a little bit to the thinning at the front. I intend to use prox-n (which is a liquid) and spironolactone on other areas. i still dont think i'll cover everywhere... ill just treat everything in front of my ears.

The reason i changed my mind is a got a reply from someone i pmed about proxiphen. He has been using it for a year, and had "only good things to say about proxiphen." It thickened up his hairline really well apparently, along with finasteride. However the most important thing was he only used 1/3 of the given amount, and currently applies it only every 2nd day (after the first year, you cut down to half the dose) This means in the 2nd year, its six times cheaper :)

Now im sure this will only last if you are, as Dr P directs, only applying it to the thinning areas. The vial is tiny. However, you can ask for liquid proxiphen, which is twice the volume but apparently needs to be applied twice a day.

Hope that helped somewhat, good luck!

Shipping is a lot for some reason! :(

US $25 - the main reason i ordered two vials instead of one. However i recommend being pretty sure what it is you want before you order a lot like me, as dr p's products are expensive.

goingat20,
as suggested don't drop minoxidil. add prox-n or prox.
as a rule of thumb, don't replace treatments, only add as needed.
