Should I be worried? I'm not sure if it's normal or receding hairline.

Hello,

I just got a hair cut a couple days ago and for the first time in my life I noticed the frontal hair is a bit thinner than usual. Also it's my first time ever paying attention to my hair line. It felt thin especially around the temple area (especially my left temple). I started getting very bothered because I cannot tell if it's just the hair cut or it is actual sign of baldness. Here are some pictures I took with my phone under a light. I have Asian hair btw.

Thank you so much in advance guys!

edit: I am 26 years old. Also, I have lost a great amount of weight lately, 60 lbs and up, through diet and exercising.

yeah bro, it seems like thinning in the temples but u r still NW1.. how old are u btw??

Also u gotta pay attention, are u shedding lots of hair? in the shower, pillow, desk etc?? Remember that up to 100 strings per day is pretty normal
But u still have great hair, its not noticeable im sure of it and if u start with some treatment u may be able to reverse that left temple scenario (maybee)..

U could start off with Minoxidil 5%/Rogaine Foam (dries faster and doesnt make ur hair look like ****) 2x/day , Nizoral/Ketoconazole Shampoo EOD (everyother day).. Maybe with Azelaic Acid 10-20%, S5 Cream and then if all of these dont work then u could jump on finasteride but i suggest u do some good research as finasteride can have badass side effects.. But first u need to see if u r shedding lots of hair, look at the men in ur family and how their hair is like and maybe even see a derma especialized in hairloss and once u r sure it is male pattern baldness u can start with the products bro

Good luck

looks like miniaturization and male pattern baldness almost certainly. The first thing you should use is finasteride, not the other stuff

I have been shedding quite a few hairs when I don't wash my hair for several days. Once I wash it, it doesn't shedd much for a while.

I believe none of the men in my family have this problem, at least not my dad or my 39 yr old brother.

Thank you for the detailed reply :)

Starting with finasteride with such a mild hairloss case is overkill and u r just asking for bad side effects, the other products i listed together will have great effect and u might even see regrowth if u use all 4 of them topically..

Imagine it like this: There is a pitbull that is bitting ur foot really hard and as we all know pitbulls have strongest jaws and wont let go.. anyways u have 2 choices use a hard wooden bat to hit him in the head and he MIGHT let go or maybe not and u also have a huge shotgun that u can shoot him in the head and it will certainly solve the problem but u might get bullets in ur foot or even lose it depending on the damage of the shotgun + bite...

Which would u choose? The best choice would be to try the wooden bat so get rid of the problem without any damage to ur self and in case it doesnt work u use the shotgun.. There is no reason act on impulse and use the shotgun before even trying the bat knowing that it could destroy ur foot with the bullets..

If u didnt understand the analogy: Pitbull = hairloss ... Wooden bat = Minoxidil, nizoral shampoo, azelaic acid, s5 cream .... huge shotgun = finasteride..

Basically u should start with easier with less side effects treatment and in case it doesnt work u keep that treatment going and add finasteride but only if.. Im not going to list side effects here but do some research on finasteride side effects, from the people i met personally out of 10-20 people who used finasteride only 1 didnt have ANY side effects

So based on your analogy, If I don't do anything about it, I will eventually lose my entire foot eh?

Thank you :)

This, a million time this, if you get on finasteride you can stop that. It's not bad at the moment, but if you let it go, it will be. All the treatments, with the exception of hair transplant's, are more effective at halting loss than recovering hair that is lost already. The key, then, is early intervention. You know your hair, if it seem like it's going, than it probably is (FYI, it is going). Jump on finasteride now.

But I would want to consult a doctor before even considering finasteride or any other treatment right?

A dermatologist, although your insurance may require a referral from a primary. Prepare for some cross-eyed looks, as most primary care physicians don't understand baldness treatments.
