Should I Be Concerned About Hair Falling Out And Not Returning, If I Am On finasteride?

I currently am going through scalp dermatitis and it is causing my hairs to fall out with follicles on them. If I am on finasteride, is it still possible for these hairs to close up and never return? I am scared to death
