Should I add Rogain?

Gentleman,

I am 28 and I have been on Finasteride since I was 21-22. Maintenance has been pretty good but within the last year, the hair line and temples have begun to thin out quite a bit and recede some. 1-2 years ago, it was just my right temple, now my left is progressing at a rate faster than my right.

I use T-Gel and the Ginger shampoo. Also, I use Nizoral but my scalp doesn't seem to like that so I rarely use it anymore. Also, I have the Rogain solution that I have NEVER used.

So, my question is, should I get on the rogain solution or foam? Typically, is the growth on the temples and hairline going to be worth the shedding and maybe dry scalp that I could experience from rogain?

Is it time for me to jump off of Finasteride and try the step up from finasteride? I think it is called avodart????

i would. you can always cut down the avodart dosage if you get sides but personally id start with one a day and see if you can tolerate it first.

I would go for the Rogaine Foam myself. Many guys on this board are adamant dutasteride has destroyed there hairlines, while maintaining the crown. I know it doesnt make sense, but many guys claim this. Your best bet is foam. I use foam and its a roller coaster ride, i wont lie, but ultimately it works. At the very least you can get maintaince.

Check out this thread on a poll about the effectivness of Foam on the hairline.

Thanks for the comments and the link guys. I think I am going to try the Rogaine solution on my temples and hairline only. I will hold off on the avodart. I have about 4 of those bottles that have the little dropper inside.

Feel free to leave some more suggestions if you are just reading this.

thanks.
