Should fingers be dry, when applying white water based adhesive?

Could it matter? Maybe it even helps, if I dilute the glue even more, to get a more smoother coat? Thank you! There's just so many coats and when you have to definitely totally dry the skin, it will get tiring.

Yes fingers should be dry or it makes the bond weaker and will need longer to cure

But you don't have to be so strict. I just have a towel to hand and use that to keep fingers dry.

Why so many coats? I only use one or two coats with approx 5 minute gap between applications. This gives a solid 7 to 10 day hold. The less coats, the easier the clean-up.

Because I use Ghostbond Platinum and the instructions say so. I get a solid 4 week hold as well. Base cleanup is difficult yes.
