short spikey hairs in between long hairs

If your barber is using this when cutting your hair, you know that's the reason for those small hairs.

Guys i'm diffused and i have the same things,
here's a picture that i took it with my electronic microscope,
it was hard to take that photo,

as you can notice the short hair is thick but i feel that is growing too slowly compared to the other normal long hair,

what do you think guy ?
