Shedding on Nizoral days

Stop me if you've heard this one before. I have been using Nizoral for three months, 3 x a week, and I have noticed that on non-Nizoral days I'm not shedding very much at all when I shampoo; however, on Nizoral days, I'm shedding quite a lot. All the hairs I'm shedding are thin, and maybe shedding them is perfectly normal, but it really feels like a lot to me, perhaps 30-50 hairs. On non-Nizoral days, well I'm down to something like less than 10 per day.
Anyone else noticing this or have advice?
PS Nizoral is greatly helping irritation caused by Revivogen.

"increased normal shedding" is listed as a side effect in the folder that comes along with Nizoral. atleast if you buy it here where I live. And its listed under the subject "common side effects"

Thanks. My Korean isn't proficient enough to read that on the stuff I buy here.
Sounds like no big deal.....
Do you experience the same thing or no?

No I don't use it regulary. I bought a bottle used it for a few times and noticed that I shed more hairs. didn't think about it that much.

However I remember many years ago, I ran out of shampoo. All I had left was a bottle of Nizoral shampoo. I didn’t know what it was for back then. I just read the text "shampoo" and used it every day until it was empty. :D And I remember thinking "woow..this shampoo is making me bald, I’m losing so much hair..COOOOOOOL". Obviously the increased shedding didn’t matter at all. I never noticed any thinner spots or anything.

Or maybe it’s a delayed side effect.....use nizoral and 10 years later you’ll start lose your hair... Yep, thats got to be the explanation

I'd say to some extent, regrowth and shedding probably go together. Minoxidil is the most famous treatment for regrowth, but it's probably the most infamous for shedding. The bottom line is that if you want to regrow, it's probably going to mean shedding.
The same is likely true for Nizoral.
Just because I've been shedding, I wasn't at all discouraged from using this shampoo. I just wanted clarification on why it was happening or if this was common.
Decide for yourself, but if you haven't noticed a major shed, why even begin to worry?

Is Nizoral A-D the same as Nizoral 2%? I'm considering using Nizoral as part of my regimen but not sure which one to get. Are both OTC or does Nizoral 2% still requires a prescription?
Last time I tried a dandruff shampoo was head & shoulders and that caused me to shed a lot.

I had an experience with Neutrogena T-gel, where I feel like my hair looks thinner when I started to use it twice a week. I stopped using it, used my usual shampoo, and my hair felt and looked thicker again. Then I gave the Neutrogena T-gel a try again twice a week, and again the same thing happened, it looked and felt thinner. And I haven't used it since and my hair feels thicker and looks thicker. I think I more attribute my hair looking thinner due to the fact that T-gel is such a strong shampoo, that it strips away the natural oils from your hair that may thin give the appearance of my hair looking thin.

Wait. Just so there's no misunderstanding about my post, I said I had increased shedding, but I never said my hair looked thinner.
I really think this is a safe product that can help. I didn't mean to turn anyone off to it.

yardbird, i know but for those of us who dont have a thick head of hair we need all we can get!! so increased shedding means less hair on ur head..which means thinner looking hair..

You've seen the study's, I presume about what Nizoral can do for your hair. If you choose not to use it, it's up to you, but I'd look at the long term effects rather than some short term shedding.
It's easy to use and has been shown to increase the shaft size of your hair over a two year period.
Can you afford not to use it?
It supposedly increases "natural" shedding. That means that those hairs are going to fall out anyway. The hairs I lose look like they needed to go...they're thin and short.

I don't see why everyone gets so upset about shedding. It's usually a good thing. Just shave your head until it grows back and you won't even notice it. :)

Man I wish the “shave it and see what happens” was as easy for women! I did it once and don’t particaly it want to wait another year to look female again ‍♀️
