I've been taking propecia for around 2 years and have noticed that i've gained a lot of weight in my face, but not anywhere else on my body. I heard that propecia could cause swelling in the face, so i decided to test this by stop taking propecia for 3 few weeks. I've always had around 15-20 hairs fallout in the the sink while combing my hair after a shower. But after i stopped taking propecia for about 1 week, i noticed there's twice the number of hair that falls out. This is definitely not my imagination. I've been dealing with hair loss for many years, and i've definitely going through a major shed. I'm wondering if this shed is related to me not taking propecia, or is it just coincidental? I thought when you stopped taking propecia, it takes close to a year before you woudl lose the regrown hair?

hi there, no one really knows what's hapening to u cause there's no way of finding out..it could be caused by either reasons

yes, the general idea is that it takes 1 year to lose all the hair u have regorwn but if your androgen receptors seems to have upregulated, then i am afraid to say u may get hit real bad if u stop taking propeicia....again who knows if its just co o-incidental that u were expereincing a seasonal or treatmental related shedding...ddi ye hair loss stop when u were on propecia, if it did, then u might be expereincing the shedding which came abt when u stopped propecia now.....the severity of it might be deperendent on AR upregulation or genetics...again there is much debate on this topic which was presented in a study by Dr sawaya....refer here :
