today, I shaved my head... so I noticed that I'm on nw2, but, I don't think that it will get more...

on the right side I see a small ammount of white hair (it is more lighter then my natural hair, I'm blond) ... and on the left side there is my "normal" hair... my question is... Is there any chance to keep that white hair, to became normal??? minoxidil??

tnx... :)

You are the perfect candidate for Propecia and Minoxidil.

Your hair loss isn't advanced, and it looks relatively recent.

Minoxidil may just fill in some of that recession, and Propecia will give you a fighting chance of keeping what you have now. And even if you didn't grow back any of the lost hair, I think you should be happy with what you have now -- I would just call it a mature hairline.

I'm not going to propercia, I think I'm too young (18 ) for that.

my dad was over 30 years on nw2, so I think it can't be more progressive thwn now... but we have different structure of the hair, my haire is much much more stronger.. so :)

tnx for advice, now, I'm yust interessing about minoxidil :)

Hair loss can come from both sides of the family, and randomly skip generations with no real rhyme or reason.

18 is not too young to start Propecia, but hey -- if your Dad had a NW2 for a long time, then maybe you can try minoxidil to get that recession to fill in and avoid the Propecia for another 5-10 years.

Go for it, man. Order some Kirklands 5% Minoxidil and give it a year.

And like I said; your hair loss isn't extreme, so if you can hold on to what you have for a while longer, then good for you.

Good luck!

minoxidil is available in 2% and 5% in high street pharmacies. The brand name varies from country to country and shop to shop.

Just noticed something looking at the picture of the left. Probably just the lighting and stuff and nothing at all. Has anyone noticed around where the temple has receded there is a redness which could possibly be the inflammation? Probably nothing but its seems to fill in exactly where the hair has been lost. Not sure if this actually helps, well it doesn't but just an observation.

Nope it won't damage your hair, you can use it if you want. You may want to try propecia (finasteride) first and keep minoxidil back as a reserve. If you do start using it and you get success you'll need to continue using it to keep what you've gained, but this is true of any hair loss medicine.

Probably I can't really give you the answer it may or may not work. Yes you could use it to try and fill your hairline in. I would recommend you use finasteride though because minoxidil doesn't really help with the underlying reason for hair loss DHT.

yes, yes, i know it isn't 100% that my hair will regrowth, but I'm asking about the statement that minoxidil doesn't work in front of the scalp...

PS
thank you for your help :)

o right, well minoxidil works anywhere you apply it. It just tends to work better at the vertex than at the temples. And the reason they cannot say it works everywhere is because it was only tested at the vertex for FDA approval so they cannot legally say it is clinically proven to work all over the head.

In both the Propecia and Minoxidil trials, hair counts were taken from the vertex not the frontal areas. This means there is no evidence from the FDA that these drugs work on frontal areas, however there are success stories around of growth acheived in the frontal areas. This is especially true if you are still in the early stages of hair loss.
Using a combination of finasteride and mix gives you the best chance of regrowth.
