Hey guys. Yup, I took a chance and went for it. Drank some beers and got pumped up last night for a shave. I took it down to 1/2 inch on the sides and 3/4 on top. Does not look too bad. I am still thin on the crown, but I have had progress no doubt. The hairline and frontal area is alot thicker than I thought it was going to be, and I feel just the crown is now posing to be the biggest threat. Gonna keep fighting it. Wish me luck.

Its interesting that you said that your front got better while your crown stayed the same because thats roughly my situation.

Although my hair has gotten better overall, I wish the crown would grow as fast as the front is.

So much for guys suggesting that these drugs dont work on the front, as they clearly do.

By the way, you only trimmed your hair, you didnt actually SHAVE it, for that you need a razor. :p Hey, at least your new look works for you and thats half the battle.

Good luck.

I believe the word shave is a loose term, but anyway, yeah I just went real short compared to how long it was. It is still thin on the crown but not as thin as it was. The area is slowly closing in from the outside in, the center of the crown being the thinnest. Thank God I am blonde. One of the main reasons I took it down was for my minoxidil apps. When my hair was getting too long it got harder and messier. I had taken myself off minoxidil for about 2 weeks because of irritation, but am back on it again with a fresh 3 month supply. I will keep it short for a couple months to get good minoxidil apps. I have decided though after cutting it short that I am in no way ready for a hair transplant. It would not make sense at this point, and I strongly believe that my continued use of finasteride/Min/nizoral cocktail will carry me through.

I have got same experience as you guys!

I have got great regrowth on temples and front line area while on crown the results are not such amazing so far.

Maybe our follicules on crown started to get thinner earlier than follicules on our front line and temples.

A large part of it has to do with dissmissing generalizations that you would normally apply to yourself. Maybe in most men the hair line is very DHT sensative but for some the crown may be more prone to hair loss than the front.

One thing I learned about hair loss is that its different from one guy to the next and so are the results of the drugs and the side effects.

Persoanally, I am getting compliments from many people and its getting more and more frequent, so I am very pleased with what the meds were able to do for my hair.

If I ever wish for more results its only because I am a greedy bastard.
