seeking concrete answer about minoxidil

Can using minoxidil in any way, shape, or form at and around the hairline cause permanent damage if discontinued? I don't want to lose hairs from it that dont grow back or have inflammation cause things to get worse. I've been on propecia for a year and my front has continued to detoriate so I want to add minoxidil, but only if I don't have anything to lose. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

If it works for you and you stop using it, you will lose all hair that was grown by it and end up where you would be by then if you never had started it - a bit worse than before starting, most likely.

But then again, there are no guarantees. It may leave you with a head of hair that Brad Pitt would kill for (not very likely), or it may leve you slick bald ten years in advance (not very likely either).
