Just out of curiosity if I go to Doctor for a routine physical can I ask them to try propecia while im at that? Or do you make an appointment and ask to see the Doctor soley for hair loss? I always feel kind of shallow and a bit stupid going to the doctor with minor hair loss when he probably saw a guy with life threatening illness a few hours ago.
Even though I have my doubts my doctor will even prescribe it anyway. Most doctors seem very reserved in prescribing out any medications in general. Anyone that gets prescription legit?

After 10 years you're finally gonna take the plunge? :)

Yeah, just say you have been noticing an increase in shedding of hair recently as well as recession/thinning/whatever and are wondering if he thinks Propecia/Finasteride would be right for you.

"Most doctors seem very reserved in prescribing out any medications in general." Dealt with this first hand. What country do you live in, if I may ask.

And yes, you can just ask it if you're there already. That's what I did too, should be no problem at all.

I got it the "legit" way. I saw a general practice doctor in my area because the dermatology clinics in the area didn't accept my insurance. But the doctor I saw was completely comfortable prescribing me with 5mg generic Finasteride. Prior to my visit, he hadn't heard of it before, which I thought was a little strange (he is quite mature). But he did a little research, asked me questions to make sure I basically knew what I was asking for and dealing with, and he prescribed it. Went to Walmart and filled it for $9 for a 30-day supply of 5mg finasteride, which I cut up into quarters (1.25mg) to last 4 months. It's great. Only $9, and that's full price without insurance (I just needed insurance for the doctor's visit).
