seborrheic dermatitis?

Is there anything I can do to reduce the amount of seb derm I have? Could it be caused by cold weather and eating fatty foods? Over the summer I was eating much better and outside in the humidity constantly, ever since winter I've had dry skin everywhere and have been eating more. I tried the nizoral shampoo and it might have even made it worse. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and my head just got really scratchy around the crown area on both sides and when I itched it all the flakes coming off looked like I just got done eating crackers or something. My hair has even been smelling way greasier lately even a few hours after a shower

Nizoral isn't the best Ketoconazole shampoo to use nowadays, especially if you're using it to help treat hereditary hair loss. The sodium laureth sulfate in it could certainly exacerbate flaking, itching, and seborrheic dermatitis. Try using a mild Ketoconazole shampoo such as Regenepure DR. It's sulfate free, and has water and aloe vera gel is its two main base ingredients.

Does it contain keto? Can you also get that by prescription or do you have to buy that on your own? I'm using the nizoral 2% now

Yes, Regenepure DR contains Ketoconazole, 1% to be exact. The shampoo is over-the-counter and can be bought without a prescription.

I had a prescription for a 2% Ketoconazole shampoo that came in a small four ounce bottle, and I never even finished it because it was so harsh.

To be completely honest, I'd stop using that Nizoral 2% shampoo now especially that it's full of sulfates and can actually worsen both the condition of your hair and scalp.

How much does it cost to get over the counter? I like the nizoral shampoo because my insurance pays for it and it's pretty much free. I'm thinking about looking into alternative treatments also, because I noticed I have it around my eyebrows and in my ear canal.

The price is 20-25 dollars for an eight ounce bottle of Regenepure DR.

I have health insurance and they also paid for the 2% Ketoconazole shampoo, which I no longer use because it's so harsh.

What alternative treatments do you plan on looking into? And what do you mean by 'I noticed I have it around my eyebrows and in my ear canal.'; is about the shampoo you're stating?

No it's always been there just some mild flaking, though. My ears are always itching and the eyebrows just have a bit of white spots on them that I thought was just dry skin. I don't think the shampoo is going to help with my ears, is there anything oral I can take for it?

Your itchy ears and eyebrows seem to be a problem of their own. From my experience, the best thing that I can recommend is to use 100% pure argan oil, and apply it to your ears and eyebrows, that should alleviate flaking and itching.

About oral treatments for Androgenetic Alopecia, the two most frequently used ones are Dutasteride and Finasteride. They're so powerful that they stop the progression of Androgenetic Alopecia in the vast majority users as if they don't even have the problem. I've been taking Dutasteride for only a little over two months and shedding is becoming minimal, it's like as if I don't have male pattern baldness anymore.
