Seborrheic dermatitis? Dry scalp?

Hi. I've been using topical minoxidil for 2 years and a half. It has always caused me itching, but recently I noticed flaking and at the beginning of this week the things got worse, so I stopped the treatment.

I went to the dermatologist and he told me I have seborrheic dermatitis. The thing is, I've seen pics of what seborrheic dermatitis looks like, with redness and yellowish flakes, but my scalp looks white and the flakes look just like dead skin. My scalp just looks as if it was very dry. When I wash my head, and my scalp it's still wet, it looks just normal, it's later when it starts looking just like very dry skin. If I apply a bit of moisturizing on the edge of my hairline, it looks normal.

Could it be that minoxidil (with high alcohol content), nizoral and my other daily shampoo (H&S) are making my scalp too dry? Or maybe the seborrheic dermatitis causes dry scalp?

I'm worried because I guess the treatments for dry scalp and seborrheic dermatitis are quite the opposite of each other. I will ask for a second opinion from another dermatologist next week, though.

Thanks in advance.

Seborrheic dermatitis? Dry scalp?

why don't?
excessive oilness and dry scalp/hair could be originated by problems with sebum . Altough there is docs using products in order to diminish sebum production in your case, it is contraproducent in my opinion,
