Seb. Dermatitis or rot flaking skin strikes again

Now its very diffused. I'll have to buzz it very very short.

Thursday is my last day in the company so Friday i'll buzz cut my hair.

No. My hair is very diffused so i'll buzz it short so the difference between the new hair and short hair will be less than now. Besides i'll apply very strong shampoos everyday to clean the mess. Meanwhile i'll buzz it more times to recover. It will be a long process :thumbsdown: .

Its funny that in Azores Islands the flaking skin came out of my head in few days without a single hair and the scalp became clean and sound.

are you still taking oral spironolactone? and if so how much? i dont remember EXACTLY, but i think i read somewhere that oral spironolactone should help with seb derm as it decreases androgens.

Alrite bro I also suffer from this terrible disease Seb Dermatitis ( you can read my account in the " Tell your story " section ). A couple of weeks back I had my second SD attack .. but I think it is just in the initial stages. The flakes are pretty small compared to what they were when I had my first attack. I saw my dermatologist a few days back and he gave me an injection to stop the inflammation. Also prescribed me some anti-allergic tablets and capsules besides Poly Tar shampoo and a scalp lotion. Really hope it works.

Dude the thing is that after I wash my hair, there are these white tiny flakes all over my hair.. no matter how well I rinse out my hair. It seems more like regular dandruff but just that I can't brush it off and it seems to be stuck in my hair. Can you tell me how to tackle this problem? As in how to make sure that the particles dont stick to my hair.

Ever tried shampoos with Selenium Sulfide (i hope it's called like that)?. I tried the one from vichy and it was able to reduce the bimples i had on the back of my scalp.

Its good that the flakes are above your hair after you wash it. Worse is if they attach to your scalp like a glue and remain there for long time.

Yeah but it is embarrasing as hell having people point out that you have something stuck to your hair. Can you offer any advise with regards to this ?

Another thing man.. Could you tell me what's the best way of applying lotions to your scalp to counter SD. I mean do you have massage it and rub it all over to soften the flakes or just apply apply the liquid and leave it to dry ?

Best way to apply a lotion is to open your scalp (steer away the strands of hair) and put it. Dont rub it.

Well I tried such a shampoo when I had my first SD attack. It made matters worse by really drying out my scalp. Might work for you though.
