Scared to take finasteride, how to mask topical spironolactone odor?

I'm REALLY scared to go onto finasterade and while I should talk to my doctor about it anyway, I'm just weary, and I'm pretty sure my parents won't let me go on it either due to the possible side effects. I told them that that it would help me but I risk those side effects, hormones, etc.

Should I really be that afraid?

Truth be told ball ache and sexual side effects and wigging out feelings just sound unpleasant.

Though I need a DHT blocker. I was taking some saw palmetto pills.

Thus topical spironolactone is my only option, but after receiving my bottle today of liquid spironolactone, it literally smells like a skunk! What should I do to mask the smell? Has anybody found a good way to hide the smell completely? I tried mixing it with some fragrance oils and rose water but that didn't work.

Any suggestions on what to mix the liquid spironolactone with to mask the smell? I want to be able to use it! Also how much should I be applying?

lol,my friend chill out.You should not be afraid so much from finasteride...i know your situation,i was on your place long time ago.Remember that every one of us is different, and you MUST try finasteride,if you have sides just drop it,it's simple... start with 1mg/day and see what will happen after 2 weeks,if you have no problems,no sides continue..finasteride is not something that you should afraid of...and about spironolactone,i don't know what liquid spironolactone is..but if it smells bad,you can try this option :

Rogaine 5% twice a day.
Finasteride 1 mg/day
Nizoral 5 times a week,or every day (I use it every day)
and you can add spironolactone S5% cream...you will avoid that nasty smell and you will have good combination with finasteride ;)

p.s And what the hell did you mean with "my parents won't let me...BULLSHIT,do you want to bald is the question?if not,f*** what your parents think (sorry for that) My parents think the same...but they don't know anything about hairloss, they don't know what is DHT,they don't know why i am loosing my hair..in their opinion i am going bald because i used a lot of hair styling gel when i was young, and in their opinion i am going bald because i eat unhealthy food can you imagine such bullshit dude?so that's why i dont care what they think...i started minoxidil and finasteride and i HAD amazing regrowth,i maintain my hair,i am not looking bald,so here is the question if my hair was falling because of the hair styling gel and the unhealthy food, how can i have regrowth from minoxidil and finasteride?what finasteride and minoxidil are healthy food ? bullshit..,and i DONT care what they think :punk:

MY opinion is : it's not worth taking it, especialy if you are young. I got tired of using topicals 2× a day and gave it a shot, because the dermatologist told me that many people use it with no side effects. I tried it and I didn't have any side effects, but something was just not right...After 3 months I stopped(in another topic I made a mistake, saying that I took it for a month.)
it's playing with your hormones.
1 from 100 experience loss of libido, less sperm,...

Some people start experience side effects after 10 years of use.

But most of the people don't experience side effects

It is up to you

I am just using Rogaine and Folligen. My existing hair became denser and fuller, but the temples were bald for a few years so I don't think anything could be done there.
If things get worse after years, I have already considered a hair system over finasteride.

Speaking as someone who's been on it for nearly 4 years...your fears are overblown. You have a 98% chance of being just fine. What if someone said to you "Give me $1000 and you'll have a 98% chance of winning $5000" would you do it? You should do it with odds like that.

I know, I know. Money and your body are 2 different things. I'm just making an analogy to different odds.

How about this....according to the National Safety Council, you have a 1-in-88 chance of dying in a car accident during your lifetime. So, you have better odds of perishing in a crash than you do of getting sides from finasteride.

Are you going to stop driving a car now because of the odds?
