now my hair seems to be responding to treatment(toach wood) i find myself in a state of panic that it will all go bad again,don't get me wrong the last week as been awesome and this is better than winning a billion dollars but this hairloss creeps up on you quick and can seems to have gotten better all of a sudden what i am basically saying is the speed that your hair changes is scary like a time bomb and this fear will always be there but it seems that somethging good is happening to me so i should thank god (which i have many times) and pray for those whose treatments is not going well for better results

Avodart 0.5mg per day plus spironolactone 100mg per day will guarantee lead to gyno.

I know from experience...recent experience. I still have a small lump under my left nipple. I stopped spironolactone immediately. I only took 25mg in the morning and 25mg at night too. Half of what you take.

How long were you on Avodart before you noticed your hair was getting better?

Howdo you know it is getting better? Less shedding in the shower? And when combing etc...

Everybody responds different to the drugs, because everyone here has a different physiological makeup. Try not to use blanket statements, because in reality you really don't know if this person will have side effects or not. Especially, with the high rate of people claiming side effects only once they've had a chance to read the side effects. There are too many factors that play into the development of problems when it comes to medications.

Besides, it really is up to him when it comes to what he's willing to put his body through long term.

Hey antonio man, I was just going to congratulate you, but I see you're still not happy. :lol: Give it a bit more time, but the fact that you even think it might be improving is good sign. I'm pretty sure that providing your hairloss isn't the result of something else (like scarring alopecias) then you're guaranteed to at least maintain with dutasteride.

well as the title of this thread suggests "scared it won't last" it hasn't some parts of my hair are thicker tjhan baseline but only just if any my hairline has thinned out not a massive amount but thinned out,the last 7 weeks my hair has been looking good but i now realise that my mind has been playing tricks on me,because there cannot be a real difference between now and then ,and i am almost certain that i have not shed,never see more than 3 or 4 in the shower never ever see any on my pillow and just know that i am only losing 50 at the most a day,i am 6 and half months in now and although my hair has been a lot worse due to the dutas shed .
I am not overly impressed with avodart and will give it the full 18 months but if it can only offer me maintaince or less is it really worth bankrupting yourself to save something that you don't like now.
The worst thing about this is that i am going to see relatives in spain in 3 weeks and a few weeks ago i thought my hair was going to look the buisness now if i had not had this good few weeks ,i would never have agreed to go to spain ,i am now dreading it ,last week i could not wait.

the depression is back big time,if i now have a dutas shed i will be tipped over the edge

no i am not still using spironolactone only used it for a week will start using it again in about 3 months if there is no improvement
