Scalpels, needles and blood

Hi,

I've been considering a hair transplant for some time now, but I have a history of not coping very well with needles or minor surgery (I passed out twice whilst getting a small mole removed, and typically faint if I have to get blood tests - butch, I know !)

I'd obviously advise the hair transplant surgeon of this prior to the procedure in the hope that they could give me some heavy sedatives, but I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem and what their experiences were?

Thanks

I get faintish every time I have blood drawn. Other than the pain of having a needle stuck in my head, no problems with a transplant. Maybe because it's on top and behind me and I can't see what's going on, and maybe the Valium helps.

That's really good advice. thanks.

I assume the surgeon will have experience of patients with my problem, but good to hear advice from those that have actually been through it.
