Scalp Pain, Itch

I have had itching and pain of the scalp for about six months now and its really starting to annoy me.

Am i losin more hair if i dont get it under control??

I have started emu oil but iv been on it about two weeks and i cant see any difference. Im going to try Scalp Exiar after the oil to see if it inflamation.

I have recently went back onto finasteride again and i would say that i notice less hair on my crown, could this be the problem?

Anybody got any ideas what it is and what i should try??

before starting finasteride/dutasteride i used to have an itch. kinda like as if bugs were crawling through my hair. this used to happen aroud 50 times a day. there was another type of itch, which felt like a pin-point itch, as if the follicle was under attack. that probably happened another 20 times.

now in total it happens about 6 times a day, 3rd month on dutasteride. do you see the link.

wow, that is the most detailed description of itches I have heard. You must be very observant. I get both types of itches as well but never thought about it till now. The pin-point one last about 4-5 seconds and feels like a sharp knife stab in one spot.

Nizoral/T-Gel seems to help my itches but not 100% under control yet.

well, i started finasteride in jan, and rolled out the dutasteride in feb. now im just on dutasteride for the last week. but in that month i noticed a significant decrease in itching. finasteride maybe building up in your system, so it will continue to get better. but i think dutasteride has really kicked the itch's ***.

i think i used to itch toooo much. every other f*****g minute. this was very disconcerting, cos it used to make me feel very self-concious all the time becuase everytime the itch came, it reminded me of my hair loss. bummer.

its getting better though. my hair is looking/feeling better. today i wet my hair in the to style it and onlyabout 10 hairs came out from the vertex/ crown area but *NONE* from a anterior mid-scalp. wow- it was like as if i was rubbing wet hands through the back of my head! GOOD FEELING! the anterior mid-scalp has improved the most too. and its only early days and im very young, so im looking forward to continued regrowth!
