Scalp itch and flaking while on Propecia?

Hey I've been on Propecia for about a month and a half. During this time I've noticed that my scalp gets extremely itchy every now and then and when I scrath my head I get all this white/yellow flakes under my fingernails.

There is alot this flaky stuff whenever I scratch my head. The itching and flaking seems to be only coming from my vertex (only area affected my male pattern baldness).

What could be causing this? Is there anything I can do to calm down the itch and flaking?

give it some time. You already have Nizoral in your rotation(you could combine it with Neutrogena T/Sal btw) but the male pattern baldness process still causes inflammation of the scalp tissue. Probably the lessened scalp dht in the months to come will settle this.

(there is a minor possibility of hyperandrogenecity due to propecia. That could lead to an oilier scalp but I doubt this is the case-and if it is it will also subside with time).

Don't be hasty. You are 1 1/2 month into treatment.
