At the moment im using nizoral, T-Gel and Loreal thickening.

Hopefully this will combat my irritation.

Why do you think using shampoo less will help with irritation?

Medicated shampoos such as nizoral and T Gel should be helping with irritation. Just make sure you dont overdo the stronger ones like Nizoral.

I think twice a day is too much, try once a day and see what it does.

Maybe the pain is caused by inflammation, you could try something like Inflammil or Proxiphen-N which has SOD's which help with inflammation.

Emu oil is also anti-inflammatory.

I keep telling ya KEVING, drop the nizoral for now, that stuff dries out your hair. It either works very fast for irritaion or makes it worse. Irritation is a side effect oddly enough.

Anyway, that worked for me at one point, so it's just a thought. Could you post a summary of what you have tried and failed at? I went through this for a long time.

I tried coming off nizoral for about three weeks but it still itched a bit, not as bad as it does now. I think i should maybe stop or use nizoral x1 a week so how it goes. What about T-Gel, Tricomin and Loreal Thickening Shampoo and conditioner what should i so with them?? I try only washing my hair x1 a day see how it goes.

Im just back on finasteride so maybe thats it, def lost more hair the last couple of months. I dry my hair with a hairdryer and use wax to style.

Tried Emu Oil and no joy, tring scalp exilar now, see if that works

do you have seborrheic dermatitis or psoriasis to use nizoral or t-gel ??

i used nizoral for months thinking it will help my hair loss but i realized it was damaging my scalp.

if you have dandruff use a "normal" mild shampoo , my suggestion is Nivea Anti-Dandruff shampoo (the one with piroctone olamine)

STOP nizoral and t-gel , they are VERY strong and you don't need them.

I have never had any problems with my scalp, not really had any dandruff before. I use nizoral etc because i thought it should be used when using finasteride. If i stop it will this not affect my finasteride??

I have small red pimples on my head.

What do you think i should use then along with my finasteride??

Just try standard head and shoulders or Jason Thin to Thick as it does not contain Sodium Laurel/laureth sulphates which may irrtating your head.

Absolutely not. In no way will it affect your finasteride.

Thats a direct negative effect of Nizoral. I strongly suggest you juat drop Nizoral, some scalps are to sensitive for it. My scalp can only handle it because I use Copper-Peptides. Nizoral is a decent cheap add-on that is way overrated and your problems far out weight the benefit.

I really think you need to get a very thick hydrating conditioner and a bottle of copper-peptides and get your scalp back into shape.

I use TIGI:Moisture maniac

I thought ive read in here that nizoral should be used with finasteride for maximum benefits, thats why im scared to come off it, that not right?

So ill drop nizoral, T-Gel etc and use Tricomin shampoo and conitioner and loreal thickening shampoo and also get a good quality conditioner?

I really am bothered about this itch and scalp pain when pressed. Ive just started using Jasons thin to thick (Scalp Exliar) and was thinking about adding inflamil or somethin once a week. Sure this itch etc is not helping my hair loss and its driving me insane.

What do you think, really want to beat this??

well my story with head itching.
Started using nizoral 3x per week, got my dandruff undercontrol but scalp irritation got really bad. Recently started using SLS free shampoos with colder water rinsing my hair, actually made my scalp itch alot more.
Now im using tricomin shamp and conditioner and the spray 1-2X a day with the laser comb 3x per week. Been using the comb for nearly 3 months and can honestly say its made my hair a lot thicker.
Today is probably my best day actually, no irritation what so ever and having a great hair day. Looks really shiny and thick. I have not lost much hair but my advice is that you should not over do shampoos, Stick to one and keep it constitant and nizoral, definatly dont overdo. Good luck guys
