Hi Gents – got dandruff like hell and bad itching on the scalp which is obviously not optimal.

Nizoril does nothing to help my itching and seem to make things worse for me …. As does nano shampoo.

Current regime is:

Morning
Prox – N
5% minoxidil

Midday
Tricomin – seems to help stop my itching for a short period so I’m not scratching all day but only helps for a short while…..

Evening
Proxiphen
Prox – N where I don’t use the Proxiphen
5% mino applied 1 hr later

3 nights a week I use laser comb
2 days a week I use Nano shampoo
3 days a week I use Nizoril

I’ve tried over the last few days to stop the itching/flaking by using some emu oil applied prior to bed and after my normal evening application of things… but to no real avail…. I still get the dry itchy scalp.

Any other ideas to get rid of the itching/scaling sclap?

chop your head off? no i dont know. i have exactly the same thing,
nizoral makes it less itchy but only on the days i use it and tricomin only
briefly after i put it on. im starting to thing it might be the nizoral thats causing it. i might add head and shoulders or something but i dont think
it will have a huge effect.

I can safely say that Fish Oil (about 4gram) gets rid of the itching by reducing inflammation.

Overall that's a good thing one would suspect. Less inflammation, less loss theoretically.

The Fish Oil works for me...

Thanks gents -

May give fish oil a go So, but think it might be very similar to emu oil....

I tend to agree with you Sean and think that Nizoral makes things worse....

I used to not use it so much and had much less scalp irritation....

I'm going to cut back on Nizoril and the nano shampoo.

Last night after surfing HairLossTalk.com I tried apple cider vinegar!!
It stung like buggery in the raw areas where I'd scratched my head quite aggressively and stinks like hell but after I'd washed it out all my itching stopped and thus far today it hasn't started again (although I have not applied any topicals today to give the old head a small break).

thanks again for your help guys
