I have been taking Procerin for the last month and have seen no change. I was thinking about going on strictly Saw Palmetto. I was thinking of taking maybe 500 Milligrams a day and see what results I'll have. Does anyone think this is a bad idea?
Yeah, I think it's a bad idea. Do two things. First, read HairLossTalk.com's article on Saw Palmetto:
http://www.hairlosstalk.com/newsletter/article230.htm Then do a search of these forums on Procerin and read everything that's been posted about it. (This is something you should do for any treatment you consider, because there's a pretty big archive of people who've tried damn near everything.)
I know that HairLossTalk.com doesn't want the "Experimental New Treatments" section to get "hijacked by Big 3 proponents," and I agree with him. But I think you should at least research the Big 3 (Finasteride, Minoxidil, Nizoral) and consider one of them as a base. Then you can play around with the unproven stuff a bit more if you want, taking into account whatever scientific studies, anecdotal evidence, etc., that you can dig up. I started Finasteride at exactly your age (21) and (it sounds like) exactly your stage of Male Pattern Baldness. It gave me an extra four years at least.
That said, I'm
not trying to discourage you from discussing or trying the more experimental variety of treatments. But I don't know that anyone has posted anecdotal evidence, even, about success with Procerin or Saw Palmetto. With Saw Palmetto, in particular, you're likely to have some or all of the side effects of Finasteride without any guarantee of getting Finasteride's proven benefits.
Good luck! Let us know what route you take.
