So the derm definitely saw thinning. He said that you cant tell if you're eventualy going to be bald, or your just going to have fine hair / be a diffuse thinner. He said its best to start treating it right now.
He prescribed me propecia, regaine, and told me to stick with my regular shampoo.
I currently dont use anything, but i'm deff going to start propecia next week. Question is, would it be okay if I didnt use regaine?
First of all i'll have a bigger initial shed since i'll introduce 2 new things at once, and second, I dont want to have to use BOTH regaine AND propecia for the rest of my life. Thats why im just wondering, should I be alrite by just propecia?
Also, im guessing sticking to my regular shampoo is a bad idea?
Thank you all in advance :)

If you were gonna only use one treatment, I'd go with Propecia. But most people will tell you, and it's from experience, the best results come from combining the Big 3 (Propecia, Rogaine, Nizoral).

Obviously, you'll be better off listening to your dermatologist and not some guy on an internet forum.

But for what it's worth, yeah, you'll probably be fine with just propecia. It's an extremely effective hair loss treatment, the best there is at the moment.
One option would be to start out with propecia and then add rogaine after 12 months if propecia don't get you the result you want.

This is a question you should be asking yourself.

If you are happy with your hair and hope to preserve it, you may only need Propecia. If you wish to see some new hair growth, you may want to start a minoxidil regimen. You also need to ask yourself if your hair is worth the time that it takes to apply the treatments. Your doctor pointed you in the right direction...
