I know not much is known, but can anyone answer this for me:

1. How long would you be able to go without RU?

2. Is there a shed with RU?

3. Is it definitely better that topical spironolactone?

1) after one day you will need to reapply it, as it's concentration in the tissue will be too low to still effect the receptors
2) I have been on for five months and am still losing hair like I am going through chemo
3) In theory yes. topical spironolactone is a very weak anti androgen. Once again, all this is in theory. Go into using RU with the mindset that it may work, it may do nothing, or it may speed up your male pattern baldness. Hell, it may kill you. Who the hell knows. ;)

Hey @buckthorn I meant as in how long would my hair last that became "dependent" on RU if I had to stop for some reason? Thanks for the info man!

the general rule is - if something regrows your hair, then when you stop using it, that hair will fall out. This goes for minoxidil, finasteride and RU.
