In essence, it could be said that no matter what additional treatments I seek, it's unlikely to have any further benefits?

No. At the basic level, it's like walking up a downward escalator.

Sensitivity + Circulating androgens = downward velocity.

The potency of your regimen = Your upward speed.

Maintenance = Walking up at the same speed as the escalator.

Not everyone has the same sensitivity, the amount of hormones and the same sensitive areas. You're going to have to dial in your regimen, and there are risks that vary from individual to individual.

Sensitivity loads the gun, Hormones pull the trigger.

It's a matter of how powerful the round and what pressure is required to pull the trigger.

Crank all these factors up and you risk having an effect on the environment.

Follicles aren't the only tissues that are sensitive to hormonal changes, but also other tissues throughout the body have their own sensitivity and it would be great if you could direct an influence on the follicles only, but also other parts of the body become affected. Whether or not they appear to respond or have more or less sensitivity is separate. That's where the risk lies.
