Roots killed by chemical?

Hi,

I am 30, and have thin hair on top of my head. I also see gaps and a bald spot at the back of my head.

I remember when I was 20, I went in for hair curling and they put a chemical in my hair and tied knots with clips. It wasn't a professional salon, just a small shop where lot of students would come in for haircuts.

Though the thinning could be unrelated to this chemical treatment, I wonder if the chemical killed the hair roots on top, or weakened them in some way?

Can I have some comments? Can such hair curling chemical kill the roots, or weaken them and lead to hair thinning?

Thanks.

Have ever tried to remove hair permanently (other than laser or electrolysis) , it is freaking impossible!

Now if that stuff actually hurt or stopped your hair growth with just that small one time brief application then you could market it and become a millionaire cause there are probably just as many people that want to remove body hair as grow scalp hair.

P.S. If you are balding in a typical balding pattern, you guessed it, you have male pattern baldness. 50 % of males have it.

Last Juin one of my staff accidently dropped Sodium Hydroxide 50% solution on is head. A big amount of hair fell out right away, after three months you can not saw the spot where the chemical hit.
