Hi all, i'm losing at my temples and started minoxidil around that area of my scalp 2 or 3 months ago. Based on my family pattern of loss i might start losing hair on my crown in a few years. My question is this: should i be applying on the crown as well? or will prevention at the temples mean the dht wont move past that to attack my crown? how do you know when to start applying minoxidil on top???

I started using nizoral 1% all over everyday but people seem to think this wont be enough.

thanks!

No it can still attack the crown, putting on temples will not affect the crown region in anyway possible. I would advise you to start applying on the crown area as soon as u experience any thinning.

Yeah, I wouldn't apply any to the crown if it still seems very thick. If you can tell it's thinned any, though, immediately start putting it on there.

I've heard a lot of people saying they successfully used minoxidil for 5+ years. any out there? did you have to go through this process (starting w. temples then monitoring and adding crown?)

when minoxidil stops working, does it stop working in all areas or it is it a local tolerance which has built up?
