First off hello! My first post here but have read many topics and stories....great forum.

Well, I have been loosing my hair since about 18, I'm now 33. My hairline has not receded but I'm very very thin on top. So, I decided to do some research and do something about the problem. I started using 5% minoxidil as recommended but my scalp doesn't seem to absorb it. The stuff just sits up there wet for hours on end, and I' not exaggerating. Am I doing something wrong or is my scalp so unhealthy its pours have closed up? How is this problem solved?

Oh, I also use Nizoral every other day and have some Fincar on the way as well. I'm hoping to get my hair back but I won't hold my breath.

You use rogaine or kirkland? it got 50% PG and is not supposed to dry instantly. Mine is wet until 3 - 4 hours.
If you want a fast drying one i suggest rogaine foam. Its cheap on ebay

And welcome to the forum :)

I use Kirkland. My hair drys but scalp will stay wet for about 4 hours. If that's normal its ok with me...I work in my own private office so the "wet" look is alright with me.

Should I be taking any vitamins to help develop a healthier scalp/hair?

Not needed if you eat healty. I like to take a multivitamin and fish oils in the morning for general health, but it wont affect male pattern baldness at all.
One supplement that made my hair look good is MSM. It also made it and my beard grow crazy fast.

Also noticed an improved hair quality after starting RU58841. It is a topical wich is more powerfull than finastride, and more safe side effect vice.

It's been my experience that it absorbs quicker and works better if you massage it in with the tips of your fingers for a bit after application.
