rogaine maintainance

Hi,

I went to my GP today he said he would have no problem prescribing propecia, but as im only 18 he wants me to try rogaine first to see if that works.

I want to maintain my hair and not really grow anything as i am around a norwood 2. Im scared of propecia side effects so thought id try rogaine.

If applied twice a day can rogaine stop my frontal hairline receding further?

The best available evidence seems to indicate that Rogaine doesn't really "maintain" hair. It just gives you a little more hair than you would have had, had you not used it at all. But I think it continues to decline (recede) as it normally would.
