Rogaine - Hairloss After Taking for 3 Weeks

In September 2014 I started taking Rogaine 2% twice daily before stopping abruptly about 3 weeks later because I didn't want to commit to it. My thinning is localized around the crown area and I am 20 years old. It's January 2015 and I'm looking at my crown in pictures and it seems like the thinning has gotten worse beyond the rate at which I was thinning before I took Rogaine for 3 weeks. Also, in November I started taking finasteride 1.25mg everyday which I still currently take. I am now trying to determine if the reason my crown looks worse is because of the 3 weeks of Rogaine I took (maybe I haven't returned to baseline from the shedding yet) or its because finasteride hasn't halted my thinning.
