Rogaine for guys on blood pressure meds?

I've looked around a lot, so if the answer to this one is up here somewhere, excuse me asking again.

I'd like to add Rogaine to the Propecia and Nizoral I'm using, but I've noticed health warnings, not usually detailed or definitive enough to decide the issue, about possible side effects for users with background blood pressure problems.

Can anybody help with some further information? Should I assume Rogaine is out of bounds for me? Or can I try it and see what happens? Has anybody in my position tried it or had advice from their doctor? I'd take it to mine, but he's deeply uninterested in hair loss and treatments for it, so I'm reluctant to.

If anybody who had to stay clear on Minoxidil found an effective alternative, I'd be grateful to hear.

Thanks.

Thanks, Cassin,
Looking back through the archives, quite a few people have reported side effects such as heartrate changes and chest pains - not encouraging if you're already on meds to ward off symptoms like those!
Given how common it is for people to have blood pressure problems and be using medication to control them, I thought more members might have come up against this decision - to start using Minoxidil or not - and be able to say something about it.
Anyway, thanks for your response.

Thanks, Finfighter. Yes, I'd picked up a sense that oral minoxidil had a history as a drastic and scarey-sounding BP med, and the advice against topical use by those on BP or heart meds is hard to ignore. So whilst I wasn't planning to do anything drastic based on a forum reponse, I was wondering if the situation was as black and white in reality. For example, I have taken a lot of meds with warnings against all kinds of side efects, some quite serious, and found that, luckily, I've not been side-effected! Could it be that some guys have found they've tolerated topical minoxidil despite their other health issues..... Or then again, maybe I'm looking for loopholes, get-outs and exceptions to the harsh rules of hair-loss realities.

I noticed that you'd had to discontinue minoxidil for a related reason. Have you any ideas on what might be a worthwhile alternative growth stimulant, or is minoxidil it, as things stand now?
