I don't think it is that big a deal. I used it for the first time today and noticed it did leave my hair a little 'sticky,' but it was not any different than applying hairspray or anything similar for that matter. Some people say that it thickens the hair a bit, which I sort of noticed in the front, but that could just be my imagination. Anyway, if it really bothers you, you could rinse your hair with water a few hours after applying.
