Rogaine foam with long hair

hey guys
im growing my hair out, so i was wondering if any of your guys has experience with using foam on long hair. if yes please let me know.
my other option is that European minoxidil that dries fast but its very expensive and im going to use it once a day

i wouldn't say my hair is long. it's like an inch long, which, compared to a buzz cut, is significant.

anyway, i've simply been parting the hair with a comb, leaving it parted, spray some foam on my finger tip and run the foam down the line of scalp.

so this is what i've been doing. but, now, i feel that perhaps liquid minoxidil is better for long hair? i say this because i think the foam easily gets caught in your hair if you have long hair.
