Rogaine Foam- Apply Directly?

It states in the rogaine foam booklet not to apply directly to scalp but isn't that the easiest way to apply it? Currently I part my hair and like with liquid rogaine, inject the foam down the hairline and then rub it in. Is there any particular reason they state that you shouldn't apply directly to scalp? Is it dangerous? Thanks.

I apply half cap full into the cap, and then use my finger tips to get a bit out to massage into my scalp gradually.

They say not to apply it directly? That does not make sense. Hmmm...I see no difference. I applied it directly when I used it....it's way more efficient that way.

I'm sure they say to use the cap because it's difficult to meter the dosage otherwise.
