Hi all, im on rogaine at the mo and are experiencing white flakes at my scalp where i apply the rogaine. i have only been on it for over a week and im on nizorol.
Is this a good sign? or am i doing something wrong?
I also have trouble applying it to my scalp, i tend to spray it all over my hair instead, as im thinning at the temples only. anyone know how to use the other applicators supplied???
Cheers guys.

that's natural. flaking, etc... use neutrogena tgel intensive antiflake control dandruff shampoo. it'll get rid of those flakes easily. it works for me. leave it on 5 minutes, no flakes at all..and it's the only shampoo i can say that does that. my doctor reccomended it to me

It is totally normal. Give the Nizoral a few weeks to start working, and your scalp a chance to acclimate itself to the new chemicals you are applying. I got the same thing, they went away in two weeks. That's Gardners stand.

Yeah i agree, I still get those flakes occassionally and i'm sure there from the minoxidil.

If you want to avoid spraying it on your hair I suggest either using the dropper slowly or using the spray by softly pulling the hairs in the place you want to spray up, so that the minoxidil penetrates the scalp not the hair.

I can't believe they still supply that spray pump. I suggest too using the dropper. Just fill up the minoxidil to the 1ml mark and just drag it on the scalp on where you want it on.

The white flakes are normal. Just keep using Nizoral it'll eventually be a lot less. I remember the flakes I got were a lot more when i started minoxidil then it is now. I still get flakes, but not nearly as drastic, it just takes time for your scalp getting used to the minoxidil.

Actually I just read you got Rogaine, they come with that stupid douber applicator that I hate. With that you just put the applicator on the bottle and squeeze the bottle and let go, the minoxidil will fill up to the 1 ml level automatically in the applicator and just drag the grey tip over the areas on your scalp where you want to put it on. The new douber applicator supposedly gets more minoxidil on your scalp and less in your hair then the previous dropper... but i had a tough time with the douber. But anything is better then the spray
