Rogaine and my brother's wedding

Hey everyone. This is my first post around these parts, but I have been lurking for a little while. You guys have given me the courage to do something about my hair loss, so I finally started a week ago.

I am starting with liquid Rogaine. My wife bought it for me a while back since she could see that I was thinning. I had it sitting in the medicine cabinet for a while until one day out of the shower, I got so fed up that I decided to finally take it.

I have been scared of balding since I was a teenager. My uncles and grandfather on my mom's side are very bald, and they went bald early in their adulthood. I am now 27. My hair is thinning on my crown and at the front. My hairline has always been high, but so is my dad's, and his hair is great.

Anyways, here comes my real dilemma. My brother is getting married at the end of May. I am worried my hair will be shedding and thin by that time because of the Rogaine. Do you guys think I should continue with Rogaine and that my hair will thicken up by then, or do you suggest I lay off it until after the wedding?

Thanks for any help!

PS. I really want to start finasteride, but I am deathly afraid of not being able to want sex or have an erection. I guess I'll need even more courage for that :dunno:

I say go for it im starting my regimen and expecting good results as soon as april  but will have to wait and see

I have not dont anything for my hair-loss but have done extensive amounts of research

what I can tell you is if you start rogain the liquid is your best bet

dont use too much rogain cause you can experience negative side effects

you will shed for the first two weeks when starting rogain some people shed worse than others it all depends on your body but after that you should start re-growing hair if you are a positive responder soo you should be excellent by may

as far as finasteride goes after all the horror stories I read i suggest you stay as far away from it as possible but who knows it has helped alot of people maintain but after some of the stories ive read I suggest you just stick with the minoxidil

Stick with the rogaine if thats what you have chosen to use not everyone gets a shed if you do then it can happen at anytime not just after 2 weeks as donni suggests if its bad then you can always use concealers for the wedding and no one would ever know.
Ive been on minoxidil and finasteride for a long time now and have never experienced a shed.minoxidil may help in the short term to thicken your hair but if you really want to save your hair then finasteride is by far your best option only around 2% of people get side effects and even then they will go away after discontinuing the drug.
