I tried Rogaine 5% solution for the first time last night.

It is very sticky and takes ages to dry. It clumps the hair together and looks awful when it is applied. I couldn't go to work with it looking like this.

What do people here normally do. Do they simply wake up a few hours before work, or do they dry the hair a little after applying?

Also, would you get any benefit from 5% Rogaine if you appled just at night time?

Would XANDROX 12.5% Lotion or 12.5% MINOXIDIL SOLUTION found at http://www.minoxidil.com/ be a good option as I think these only need be applied once per day (due to higher concentration).

Tell me about it!

I wake up a few hours before going to work. Its IMPOSSIBLE to be seen with this stuff if you have recently applied it. I will soon switch to the foam once I finish my supply.

minoxidil Foam

The minoxidil Foam sounds good.

Where is the best place to get a good quality foam?

Do people think the foam is a effective as the solution?

seems foam is little bit more effective than solution, it is easy to apply , dry's fast so people would stick to twice a day rotuine may be that's what makes it more effective.
It is stated on Rogain site that results with foam were see as early as 16 weeks where as it took longer time on solution.

U can find it in your local super market or try buying it on web

Hey Mr. fellow Aussie.

I found my Rogaine foam on eBay for a good price...usually you get 3 or more bottles at a great deal.
Even though they come from the US (and the shipping/handling can be a bit pricey) it's still a bargain.

If you dont need to apply minoxidil to your whole scalp or your hair is short, try using the foam, alot of people here have said great things about it. Otherwise, try to dampen your hair a little bit before applying to make combing it easier after.

Im just switched to Hair A-Gain, not sure if its as effective as Regaine (and nobody here cares to answer my questions ) but its not as greasy and dries in less than 30 minutes.

I was able to get it 5 bottles for AU$90 from:
http://www.epharmacy.com.au/product.asp ... +supply%29

Looking at the product it appears to be a 5% minoxidil solution. It probably works no better than any other 5% solution or perhaps not as well because you indicate it dries very quicky therefore it may not be absorbing as well as the regular Rogaine/minoxidil formulas.

Thanks mate.

Yah thats what I was thinking... Maybe Ill use the Rogaine/Regaine at night and the generic in the morning.

Then again, the foam dries quickly :S
